The launch of the new Ford Focus is extremely important to Ford.  The Focus has been one of Britain’s most loved vehicles since it was first launched in 1998. With 1.4 million units having been purchased in the UK, the Focus is one of the top best-sellers in Britain.

Ford Britain Sales Director, Jon Wellsman, said: "UK motorists are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Ford Focus, replacing the model which was the top selling car for 10 years.

The new model is due to go on national sale on the 1st of March 2011, mirroring the start of the new ‘11’ registration plates. The Ford Focus has a fresh new look partnered with innovative technologies. Empowered with Ford Kinetic Design technology the sporty appearance heightens Ford’s already impeccable reputation.

The new Ford Focus will be available in 4 specifications, including the Edge, Zetec, Titanium and Titanium X.

The new Focus offers the choice of three petrol and four diesel engines.  The 1.6 litre ECOboost engine has been reported to accelerate 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds whilst returning an average of 47 mpg.  Diesel engines are predicted to be the most popular as motorists become more aware of their fuel economy.

Features include a high-tech centre console that has the ability to recognise speed traffic signs and display them on the instrument panel.  Other impressive features include automated parallel parking, lane keeping aids, safety aids and many other packages to enhance driving experience.

The new Focus offers improved fuel economy with no loss of performance. The stylish new model will be available to purchase from March, complete with the all new 11 registration plates.
